SynapseTurbo Cobalt Intercooler Install
Thank you for purchasing the SynapseTurbo Intercooler Kit.
Step 1
-Remove the front bumper as it allows you to get to the factory intercooler piping and intercooler.
-Removing the wheels make it much easier to get to the inner fender lining and bumper bolts.
Step 2
-Remove the factory intercooler and bracket off the intercooler.
-The 4 bolts that hold the intercooler onto the brackets (with large washers) will be used to bolt your new intercooler
to the bumper support.
Step 3
-Remove the factory upper charge pipe that goes from the turbo to the drivers side of the intercooler.
-Remove the sensor clip and pressure hose from the passenger side charge pipe.
-Remove passenger side charge piping from throttle body and intercooler.
-Install supplied o-ring on sensor, and then tighten down the sensor with the supplied hex bolts.
Step 4
-Use the 4 bolts (with large washers) and install your new Synapse Intercooler to the factory bumper support.
-Make sure the intercooler is pushed all the way up to the bumper support before tightening down.
-The bolt holes are oversized drilled so that it can be adjusted up/down and right/left.
Step 5
-Install the passenger side charge piping with the supplied coupler and clamps, leave everything loose until all pieces
are fitted.
-Plug in sensor and pressure source into charge pipe.
Step 6
-Install drivers side upper and lower piping and secure to intercooler.
-Now go over and adjust the intercooler and/or pipes as needed for a perfect fit.
-Tighten down all clamps (7/16 socket).
Step 7
-Fit bumper and trim the inner skeleton until bumper fits like factory.
-Remove factory front grill for a more aggressive look (optional).
-Re-install Front bumper.
Step 8
-Go have some fun, enjoy the new look of your cobalt and the added performance.

Matt Lang made his pro racing debut at LRP in Lakeville CT with the SPEED World Challenge Touring Car series this past memorial day weekend.
We were able to run our Honda Challenge H1 Integra Type R with a few upgrades to be a bit more competative. We were running a stock K20A with competition camshafts. This proved to be not enough HP, but we made the best of what we had. We had also switched to Moon shocks but were not able to test on them and went with the PIC Coilovers we had been racing on all year. We got to LRP on Thursday afternoon to set-up and make some minor tweaks to the car so we would be ready for the early Friday morning practice season. The 1st practice season Friday went pretty well we turned a 1:01.6 which put us last but not to far off considering it was our 1st trip to LRP. In Qualifying we made some changes and thought we would be able to cut a half second. On the 3rd lap we had a rear camber bushing fail causing Matt to hit the wall in West Bend ending his qualifying season. The Synapse Motorsport team worked hard to help repair the car for the Saturday race. We were starting second to last with Jason Martinelli and Bill Auberlen behind us. The race started ok with no drama and was running up a few spaces till lap 19 when we dropped a valve ending our day. We finished 19th of 20. It was a great learning experience and we enjoyed the professionalism of SCCA Pro Racing and SPEED. We will be back next year....
